Game Changer

I found out today that there is a Blogger app!!! I always get behind on posting because it's such a pain to transfer my pictures from my phone to my computer. Problem solved! I'm excited to share some of the exciting times we have had in February.

First up.... my baby had her first birthday! It was an absolutely gorgeous day in the upper 60s, so we went to the playground. I will have to show you all how enormous this playground is... and it's right outside our house!

Big girl

:)

Hi daddy!

Next, we had a birthday dinner at Chili's with our friends Jake and Amy. They bought Heidi a new "cell phone" and she loves it! And she loves her "Aunt" Amy and "Uncle" Jake.

With the birthday girl

Chili's gang sang Happy Happy Birthday and brought ice cream!

A little overwhelmed with the singing!

Stop singing and give me my ice cream!

There we are!

Since little H had ice cream on her birthday, we waited until the next day to have cake. But it was still her birthday in the States, so it all works out in the end ;)

Singing Happy Birthday! Don't worry... we blew out the candle for her :)

Trying to shove the ENTIRE cupcake in her mouth!

Bliss

Bonus: Licking the icing beaters!

Oh yes!

Cake smash success!

So big!

Time to get clean!

A very happy ending to a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Next up in February was... Valentine's Day! Witten and I went to a mystery dinner theater on base and had a blast! Heidi got lots of kisses and hugs from us... as well as a new toy.

Date night!

Little Valentine!

Loving her new toy

And as always... all about Daddy.

Well, that sums up our first two weeks of February! I will have another post up soon with a few pics of our house as well as some pictures from Witten's 24th birthday. Thanks for reading... I'm confident I will be able to post more often from now on!

Love,
Megan

Tokyo!

What's going on, my friends? We are still getting the house put together, but I wanted to share a recent trip we took in the meantime! We finally made the trip to Tokyo!

The first place we ventured to was the Tokyo Dome. It's a giant baseball stadium/arena in Tokyo, that has a large complex of shopping and entertainment surrounding it! Our friends invited us along since there was a big festival going on where food vendors from across Japan come! Here are some pics!

My first time on the train. I hate driving, so I loooove public trans!
Arriving at Tokyo Dome City for the giant food festival!

Ready to go inside. Happy girl :)
So much going on inside the doors!

It was SO crowded. Witten did NOT like that, haha.

Heidi didn't know what to think of this guy!
Lunch time! Yum yum!

Watching one of the drum shows.
Too much excitement ;)

After the food festival, we spent a little bit of time checking out the city. As you could see from a previous photo, there is a little amusement park around the dome! I felt brave and rode this ride call the "Sky Flower." You stand in a cage and it raises you up about 200 feet, then it lets you fall back to the ground! It was fun, but slightly scary for me since I'm petrified of heights. But hey, you only live once!

Getting on!
During our ride. Ahhhh!

We will definitely go back this summer some time! They had lots of free things for toddlers, and I think Heidi will love it!

The next place we went to was Shibuya! It's basically the Times Square of Tokyo... what they usually show during movies. Lots of people, lots of energy. I LOVED it!

Shibuya during the day.

Part of my fabulous dinner. Smoked salmon with seared mozzarella. YUM.

A 5-story Forever XXI store. It took a lot for me not to spend all our money!

Annnnd Shibuya at night! We're such tourists :)

That about sums up our trip! Hopefully, once I get our house together I will have more time for blogging. Lots of love!

The past few weeks

Ahhh I'm a bad blogger! It's been a few weeks since I've updated.  I have found it difficult to document the happenings of our lives since I don't have a camera. But I will remedy this and do better.

We've had a busy couple of weeks! Let me recap:

We moved into our new home. It took another few weeks for our stuff to get here, but it's here! It's taken much longer for us to get things unpacked compared to Little Rock... of course, we had much less stuff AND no baby to watch/care for/chase around..

We celebrated the new year at our friends' house. They made Japanese-style ramen. Yum! Witten and I brought a bottle of champagne. Funny enough, though, the boys put it in the freezer to chill it, and apparently they forgot about it. About 5 minutes before midnight they realized that the whole thing was frozen! Haha.

We joined a Bible study! It's for married couples here at Yokota. Unfortunately, Witten is on swing shift for the next few months and won't be able to attend with me until his shift rotates, but he will definitely still be involved.

We saw our first snow here! The snowflakes were huge and wet. Heidi hasn't seen snow since she was a newborn, so it was fun to really introduce her to it.

Heidi got her first busted lip. She's still trying to learn to walk, and ended up biting her top lip with her bottom teeth.

Speaking of which, her third tooth has finally popped! She now has two on the bottom and one on the top. She's definitely starting to look more like a toddler and less like a baby.

Here are some pictures to make up for my lack of posts!

On solids full-time now. This baby LOVES to eat!

Gloves from the mall. About 1050 yen, but we were glad to get them!

SNOW!

Daddy and Heidi's game

Tearing up a cassette tape is lots of fun. Silly baby!

Wearing Daddy's hat! Her busted lip is starting to heal up.

Anniversary

Witten and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary two days after Christmas! We went off base to an AMAZING pizza restaurant. Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Hello!

My handsome date :)

Our food. DELISH.

Other notable things that happened... we got our house! Well, really it's closer to an apartment, but YAY! So we finally have a place of our own! I'll have pics of that up in a future post. We also got a home phone (I know... we are old geezers now). But we got it so that we can have an American number (614 area code... pretty cool!) Contact me if you would like our number.

Happy anniversary honey! And lots of love to you all!

Christmas in Japan

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Even though we are still waiting on our house, we had a lovely time together and with friends. Here's a few pics of the day!

Wait, mom! I'm not ready yet!

Sadly, right after this picture was taken, Witten went to hand me my camera (the expensive one he got me LAST year for Christmas) and it slipped and fell right on the lens! RIP camera. So sad.

Family pic... take two on the iPhone!

For Christmas, we got Heidi a stainless steel baby spoon engraved with her initial on it, and we also got her a toddler-sized couch that flips out into a sofa! I mentioned before we even got here that I wanted to get her one, and we found one on sale for $20.00 on base on Christmas Eve! I love it.

Opening her gift!
Look at that big girl!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Lots of love from our family to yours.
